HUNTER'S SANCTUARY FOR PAWS AT A GLANCE

A Bit of Background

In 2014 we adopted Hunter, a dog who was returned to shelters over 3 times for all kinds of reasons, I was told he might not be the best fit for our family, but I brought him home anyway. Hunter loved his new home, and his new family. For 3 years we were able to give him a wonderful life but unfortunately his high prey drive got the best of him, he got loose and was found deceased, breaking all our hearts. During our grief a 2 week old puppy who had a broken lower lumbar and rear legs was brought into the veterinary hospital where I worked, the breeder wanted to euthanize, but I knew we had to take him in. With that the idea of Hunter's Sanctuary for Paws was born, at the end of 2018 I made it official, and in the beginning of 2019 we became a 501(3)(c) non-profit.

Here at Hunter's Sanctuary for Paws we provide access to veterinary care, physical therapy, medication management, and socialization, kind of like an "assisted living home" for animals. These animals have been surrendered due to life long illnesses and/ or disabilities that may not be properly managed within a normal family household, therefore once an animal is adopted by our sanctuary they are not considered "adoptable".We know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support and we are determined to make an impact. Our goal is to provide a loving home for hospice and disabled animals. Once they enter our home they become a part of our family, our "Pack", and we will never abandon them. The core of our efforts is to change the world for neglected and/or "undesirable" animals and through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs!

WHAT WE DO

Hunter's Sanctuary for Paws is in the business of changing animal lives for the better. The work we do at our 501(3)(c) Non-Profit Organization is aimed at not only providing a loving home but support system for animals with disabilities and/or diseases that may be too complicated for a regular owner. We make sure our animals get the best veterinary care possible, from traditional treatments to acupuncture and western medicine.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

We want owners of special needs animals to know they have support as well. We provide local owners with animal shuttle services to Abby Road Veterinary Hospital and pet sitting services for when you need a break. We now serve the Lehigh Valley and parts of Monroe County.
